NJ business owner arrested, accused of using drone to drop green dye in nearby pools

NEW JERSEY (WPIX) – A New Jersey man has been arrested for allegedly dropping chemical dye into residential and commercial pools via the use of a drone, police said.Patrick Spina IV, 45, of Absecon, was charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief Friday in connection with several of the annoying, costly incidents, police said. Don’t swim in it Police in the city of Absecon were first made aware of such incidents on Aug. 13, when a homeowner noticed a drone hovering over their yard, the Absecon Police Department said."To the homeowner's dismay, a substance was dropped from the drone, turning the pool water an alarming shade of green," the department wrote in a press release.Police said several other incidents were reported at nearby pools, one of which involved a Quality Inn in Galloway Township. Carl Nassib, 30, announced Wednesday on Instagram that he's walking away from the NFL. Nassib, who came out in 2021 while with the Las Vegas Raiders, said it's a "bittersweet moment." "It really feels like just yesterday starting out as a walk-on at Penn State. Football has given me more than I ever could have imagined. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - One of the busiest streets in St. Charles was set to reopen later Wednesday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.Part of Zumbehl Road has been under construction for the past three months. ST. LOUIS - Two different crashes shut down stretches of Interstate 70 westbound overnight in north St. Louis city and north county. The first crash was deadly. The second involved a St. Louis city police unit.The situation involving the police officer unfolded about 3:45 a.m. Police first told FOX 2 earlier Wednesday morning that a city officer was driving a marked police unit when the vehicle was rear-ended by another driver, causing the officer to lose control and hit the center median. LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. -- A Lake St. Louis woman died early Wednesday morning in a Lincoln County crash. Saraya Sanders, 22, was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m. by EMS personnel after her vehicle was found in a creek bed.The Missouri Highway Patrol says that Sanders was driving southbound on Route 47 north of Lindsay Road at around 11:40 p.m. She crossed the center of the road and overcorrected, hitting a guardrail, which sent her Nissan Altima airborne.The vehicle landed upside down in a creek. First responders were called to the scene and eventually pronounced Sanders deceased.
